The elephant in the room…

When I say no two weddings are the same, it’s genuinely not just a cliche. During nearly every pre-wedding chat with a couple, I often use the expression “once that train leaves the station, it doesn’t stop until it stops…and this couldn’t be truer. Once you wake up in the morning, you will be all married up and cutting shapes on the dance floor before you know it.

For a photographer however, this is just the start.

As much as we enjoy shooting the day, interacting with all the amazing people, meeting the other suppliers and networking, but sometimes it’s the few days after where we really enjoy the process. Picking the best shots, editing them, tidying up any wine spills, curating the final collection and sending on are all parts of it!

Now this is where we divide the nation: pricing

I work at a rate of £600 per day - and a typical wedding for me is about 2 to 3 days out of my calendar. The few hours preparing the night before, the early start right through till late evening, (including the tear down and very important backup). Then the couple of days to sort and edit the thousands of images that are taken.

If you would like a second shooter I typically have to pay them a rate of about £300 per day, but I now have double the images to sift though and edit - which in turns takes more time, sometimes more than a day.

And if you would like an album or prints, I arrange and design all of this and have it delivered to me first for checking, before sending out again. a Typical album costs around £400 and prints can vary.

And this is how I build my packages…

  1. Me all day,

  2. Me and someone else all day

  3. Me and someone else all day and an album.

Nice and simple - but this can be chopped and changed so just ask!
